Leash back up and stroll up the hill to the 

. The skyline and river views here are some of the best and oldest in Richmond. Take in the history while you’re at it! During the Civil War, Chimborazo Hospital was located in this park and was one of the largest military hospitals in the world.

This park was named after Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador, probably because of the dramatic views, but there’s no real confirmation of why.

Finish the adventure by walking over to Libby Hill Park. This overlook gives you a more close up view of downtown Richmond and Shockoe on one side and one of the most iconic Richmond views on the other. Look for the wayside panel near the stairs and take in the suggested view. Trust us, you won’t regret it. As a bonus for your pup, there’s a little extra space to sniff and roam before heading home.
